Top 5 World Problems and Their Possible Solutions

I'm going to take 5 problems from my other post and rank them and their solutions separately.

1. ISIS and political unrest in Syria.
2. Refugee crisis in the Middle East.
3. Global population.
4. Nuclear weapons.
5. Melting of the polar ice caps.

Solutions rank...

1. I think it is safe to assume that the majority of us have at least heard a little bit about the refugee crisis in the middle east. Believe it or not this problem affects us just as much as them. I believe that the best way to approach this is to come united as a world and have our leaders discuss a way to divide up how many refugees each country will take and so on.

2. This one is very close related to the first one because most of the refugees are fleeing Syria. For this problem we must find a common ground with Russia and finally bring together everyone to be able to find a concrete solution to end the political unrest and for once bring down ISIS. The here will be whether or not we will be able to work with Russia or not.

3. The shrinking of the Ozone layer due to the increasing amount of greenhouse gases caused by the burning of fossil fuels has led to the melting of the polar ice caps. This should be a huge concern to everyone because this will lead to a significant increase in sea level which could lead to deadly flooding. Florida may not even be on the map if it continues! The is a very easy solution to this and it is called: Green energy.

4. We really have a lot of people on earth right now. We must continue to inform everyone about ways to prevent unplanned pregnancies and to teach communities that aren't informed about the dangers of the increasing global population.

5.  I think this one just about explains itself. We really should not have nuclear weapons. There is no reason why any country should have these, especially when you consider that they have to the power to wipe out whole countries. Unfortunately, there is no easy solution for this and it will be very difficult to get countries to just dismantle them and carry on.

Reasoning:

Okay, obviously this is only my opinion and I only picked from a handful of problems that I came up with last week, so don't take it super serious. Anyways, my reasoning for the first rank is based on the fact that I cannot fathom that families can't have the security of knowing that their home will not be blown away or their town taken over by terrorist. The rest was very difficult to rank because I saw them all equally important.

As far as the solutions I came up with it was bit easier to rank. Simply because some problems have clear solutions while others don't. For instance, it is conceivable to think that countries would be able to work to together to find homes and jobs for refugees. While it is way more far fetched to believe that countries will work together to get dismantle their nuclear weapons.

    1. Now I can see your information. You did a really good job and I see we have a lot of the same opinions regarding the biggest problems in the world today. I do believe though that your first and second point are very similar and could even be put under the same category as far as the middle east goes. Regardless, terrorism needs to end and it is as simple as that. Someone must think of a true, real solution to this problem that effects millions of people all over the world. Overall a very good job and check out my blog if you get a chance. http://ghioto.blogspot.com/2016/01/top-5-world-problems.html

  2. Hi Gabriel. Our lists had a couple similarities. I had the refugee crisis and climate change. I didn't include nuclear weapons or overpopulation though. I do think the whole refugee crisis solution is a lot more complicated than it seems though. In general Europeans are even more afraid of terrorism than we are, because they actually have to deal with more often than we do, and look at the reaction to the President saying we were going bring in 10,000 people. It's going to a lot more than a few heads of state getting together to get all those people relocated and houses without being able to go home.
