Amazon Whisperer

For this exercise, I will go in a different direction from my business idea for the class. This is because my business idea is about providing healthy food and this exercise doesn't really apply to this.

For the purpose of answering the question posed in the assignment in relation to my main idea:

Describe the revenue drivers you currently include in your business concept for this class. Revenue drivers are the different ways you make money. 

For my business concept, I have various food trucks going around campus offering healthy food options at night for students. The main way I will make money is through selling food.

Having that said, I'll tell you about an idea my friend and I had a few months ago. Our idea is to create a home speaker system that is placed all over the house, and you would control it through an app on your phone. What makes it unique is that the music follows your phone. So, if you're in the kitchen and you're listening to a song but then realize you have to go to the laundry room you can continue to listen to the song because the music will follow your phone. It all happens automatically, so you could hear the song fading away as you leave the kitchen and then getting louder as you approach the laundry room.

This idea clearly still needs a lot work and honestly, its not something I've put much thought into, but I thought it would be very applicable for this assignment. The only problem that does come to mind about this is how far will this product reach customers? Because this product seems like something that would only attract people that a bit better off financially and actually have a big enough house to incorporate such a product into their homes.

I found this product on amazon and it is called the "frisby home speaker system." This is similar to what my friend and I had envisioned because it has bluetooth capability, but we were also thinking about something alot more subtle. Speakers that you could put in the corner of the room and be barely visible, but still give a high quality sound. So if I could alter this product I would definitely make the speakers smaller and obviously add the capability of controlling it through a mobile app and creating a way to make it fade away as you move around your house.

As far as costumer reviews go for this amazon product, they were very good overall but out of the people that gave it lower ratings they mostly complained about the quality and longevity of the product. Since nowadays products seem to get cheaper and more fragile I would definitely make it a very high quality product since I'm going to be attracting more wealthy costumers.
